He’s powerful, he’s loud, he’s immature, he’s impulsive and hot-headed… and his greed for katsu is insatiable!  He’s Lord Repter and he is the god who presides over Universe Outerah.  Repter is as ancient as Outerah itself and although the archives speak of a more humble and righteous entity, that is not the person Lord Repter is today.

And judging him by his personality would be the last mistake anyone would make.  Lord Repter commands unspeakable power and contrary to what some might think, he wields it responsibly.  After all, it is his philosophy and his “passing the torch” onto Darius that has led to Outerah being what it is today.  As a god, he believes that all others like him should be distant observers and intervene only when it is absolutely necessary.  For Repter, this means that Outerah’s destruction would have to be imminent in order for him to enter the mortal world.  Either that or if either Proterius or Marcarvious have been released from their respective prisons.

Lord Repter is also responsible for the creation of the Elements of: Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth.  As such, he created their Elemental Lord proxies who reside over Outerah in the mortal world to this day.  He is regarded as something of a middle child when it comes to the Three Great Deities.  He’s not as intelligent or powerful as Proterius nor does he have the ambition or drive of Marcarvious, so he might feel unassuming when compared to them.  But this is exactly why he was able to emerge victorious when their inevitable clash for power took place.  Using Proterius’s own “high and mighty” attitude against him, Repter banded together in a one-time alliance with Marcarvious to seal him away in The Core of Outerah.  Knowing that Marcarvious would betray him, Repter beat him to the punch and made sure to make it count!  It was all or nothing!

But residing in The Core of Outerah and maintaining his distance from all mortals tends to get boring over time.  It is said that Lord Repter has come and gone from Outerah multiple times, mostly out of boredom, but also because his confidence in The Guardian of Outerah is absolute.  Lord Repter even chose two of Darius’s successors in place of the Elemental Lords because “he felt like it.”  It’s little surprise that those chosen by Lord Repter have proven to be the most prestigious and effective.

Despite his efforts to distance himself from the mortals of Outerah, Lord Repter would inevitably gain followers.  Whether it’s a sincere adoration for the four Elements or maybe they love chicken katsu as much as he does (almost… for to claim that one loves katsu as much as Lord Repter are blasphemous words!), The Repten Clergy has always been passionate about Lord Repter’s divine dish and it has become a staple in Outeran cuisine!

For all the great things Lord Repter has done for Outerah, he is ultimately an entity with simple desires.  He wants Outerah to grow with as little influence from the gods as possible (though he understands the necessity of religious worship) and to enjoy the little things in life.  For most part, that means chowing down on chicken katsu, but Repter does keep himself in top form and ensures that his power doesn’t wane.  After all, Proterius and Marcarvious can always be freed.  The means in which Lord Repter has grown in power is simple, yet effective.  The skull he wears like a helmet is actually the means in which he contains the bulk of his power.  He calls it a limiter.  If Lord Repter removes this limiter, then he has unrestricted access to the powers he has gained over the eons.

Lord Repter appears as a cloaked reptilian humanoid wearing a skull on his head that outlines his face perfectly.  He is an honest and blunt god; the notion of a filter seems lost on him.  Despite his rough personality, Repter is strangely humble; he has no illusions of being more powerful than Proterius and even acknowledges that Marcarvious’s power is greater than his own.  But it’s this practical approach that saved Outerah from his counterparts.  There is only one thing about Lord Repter that is uncertain and that’s whether or not he has a draconic form like Proterius or Marcarvious… It is the one question that has never been answered.

Darius - The Title of the Hero

There is no greater legend in all of Outerah than the tale of Darius.  He is revered not only because he was Repter’s mortal companion, but because he literally lives on through his successors.  In exchange for great power, Darius aided his divine friend against both Proterius and Marcarvious.  There were many mortals Darius once called friend, but he was the only one to survive in two separate battles against powerful deities.  Not only did he aid in sealing Proterius away in The Core of Outerah, but he also helped Repter banish Marcarvious to a small, confined dimension.

The price Darius paid for this power isn’t typical of what it means to deal with powerful entities.  Lord Repter was sincere in his gratitude, but he may or may not have had an ulterior motive when it came to the aftermath of his seizing power.  Repter believed that the deities should have little to no involvement in mortal affairs; as such, he has resided in The Core of Outerah while letting Darius take the reins as Outerah’s Guardian.  But when Darius passed away, his legacy hadn’t ended.  In fact, this was just the beginning.

Darius was not only the first ever Guardian of Outerah, but he was the champion of the Elemental Lords of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth.  With their blessing, Darius’s spirit would inhabit the body of each successor.  This great champion gains two titles: Darius and The Guardian of Outerah.  These names have become interchangeable as time passed on, and the esteemed champion who would carry on Darius’s legacy does so knowing the burden they carry.

Each time a successor is chosen, the chosen champion gains the memories and abilities of not only Darius himself, but every predecessor before him or her.  But The Guardian of Outerah is meant to stay outside of the affairs of other worlds unless they directly threaten the universe in its entirety.  Every Guardian of Outerah is tasked with maintaining the balance of the four Elements.  This means not only seeing to it that these Elemental energies stay in relative harmony, but making sure the energies of rival Elements do not exceed that of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth.  This also means that their time as Guardian is up whenever the Elemental Lords decide that their champion’s task is done.  That puts The Guardian’s life in their hands, literally.   Lord Repter himself can also choose a champion to don the titles of Darius and The Guardian of Outerah, though this has reportedly only happened twice.  This is done when the situation in Outerah is dire.

The oldest of the preserved archives speak of Lord Repter and his triumph over his two rivals and credit him for protecting Outerah by creating “The Darius System.”  But as time has gone on, Lord Repter’s name has fallen into obscurity because The Guardian of Outerah is effectively timeless.  There is always a worthy champion donning the title of Darius to protect the universe.  This legend is as old as Outerah itself, so it’s easy to see why people from all worlds revere not only the current Guardian, but Darius himself.

To those who aren’t pious, the difference between worshiping Lord Repter and venerating Darius seems trivial.  But the fact that Lord Repter’s worshippers do not include Darius among the champions who have donned his title spurs great debate between both sides.  It’s not meant as an insult, but Lord Repter’s followers simply believe that Darius started the legacy and that it doesn’t make sense to include him in worship when he’s the progenitor of the Outeran Guardians.  Those who venerate Darius, however, believe that he should be included for that very reason and tend to favor him over Lord Repter due to the continuous influence each Darius has in Outerah.  Worshippers of Darius don’t have a favorable opinion of Repter’s distant nature nor his willingness to let mortals guide their own destinies.
