Lords and Heraldrics
Solaria, Tecknil (Vlarex), Chozreh
Of the three Outeran deities, Proterius is regarded as not only the most powerful, but also the most dangerous. Power means little without the ability or mind to wield it properly and Lord Proterius excels at both. Proterius was actually the first of the three to come up with the idea of Elemental Champions; as the one who created The Lords of Light, Shadow and Spirit, it’s easy to see why he is so revered on Angelar. Paying homage to these Elemental Lords means that one is honoring Lord Proterius by proxy.
Unlike his impulsive and hot-headed counterparts, Proterius is a mastermind and is renowned for his bottomless well of patience. No game is too long for him and he enjoys every move he makes, from the first pawn to the checkmate. Anyone in Outerah who enjoys chess or other like-minded strategy games can thank Lord Proterius, because it was he who brought forth these now-timeless classics. Constantly outsmarting Marcarvious and Repter became child’s play; this only served as fuel for the fire that is the envy both gods harbored towards him.
Even when he was sealed away, Proterius didn’t resent Repter or Marcarvious. They finally managed to beat him at his own game and he acknowledged that he was preparing to do the same; they had just beaten him to the punch. Though he has remained sealed within The Core of Outerah for eons, his influence has waned little. The Lords of Light and Shadow choose champions to both represent their respective Element, but also to serve as the harbingers of balance. These worthy chosen ones are given the titles of “The Lightbound Heraldric” and “The Shadowsworn Heraldric” and while these legends are revered in Angelar and Vicrious, these Heralds are not always from these two worlds. In fact, the Legacy of the Heraldrics boasts the highest diversity as far as chosen warriors and worlds they hail from are concerned.
Lord Repter says that he created the Darius System all on his own, but some historians and religious archivists dispute this. Marcarvious and Repter were known to emulate some of Proterius’s ideas and mold them in their own image. But this remains unconfirmed and most likely always will be. And it’s just as well, because Proterius has indirectly stolen followers from the races that his counterparts created. In fact, Angelarians exist today as one of Lord Proterius’s prized races and it’s all thanks to his ingenuity.
The one thing that all three agree on is that maintaining the balance of Outerah is top priority. Each of them sees it in a different light, but Proterius and Repter are not so different in their goals. But whereas Repter believes that mortals should be the masters of their own destinies, Proterius has an approach that is more hands-on. Proterius believes in a single united Outerah and this is precisely what prompted Repter and Marcarvious, who can normally not stand each other, to band together and seal him away in a place that is virtually impossible to break out of. Repter’s philosophy is in direct opposition to Proterius, while Marcarvious simply wanted to seize all power for himself.
Proterius’s views on guiding Outerah might be extreme and although his intentions are good, the road to them is paved with darkness. He believes in guiding the people of Outerah to help them be the best that they can be, but this also means weeding out anyone who opposes him and his followers. That entails some extreme measures. One such measure can be seen on Planet Angelar. Their people are hopelessly addicted to tea; this happens to be Proterius’s favorite beverage and serves as the lifeblood for the Angelarian people. They seem to relish in this tradition, as they believe it makes them closer to Proterius, even though he has long since been sealed away.
Curiously, Proterius is the only one of the three who is not reptilian in appearance. He has a mighty dragon form that he can assume, but Proterius actually prefers taking the form of an Adept Human. In his human form, Proterius has shoulder length dirty blonde hair, and his heterochromia reflects two of the elements he has created; his left eye is white and his right eye is black. It also suggests that he has found a way to break The Core of Outerah’s seal; if this is true, then he must harbor no ill feelings towards Repter. Either that or his patience has rewarded him, and another game has been set.
Proterius’s Elemental Lords
While the Lord of Light is rarely seen and the Lord of Shadow is practically one with the base of Angelar, flowing in and out of the planet’s planes of existence, Solaria is the only lord that walks the mortal plane, taking after her master’s hands-on approach. As the Lord of Spirits, Solaria commands the Spirit World, and by proxy, the ethereal gateway that connects Spirit World to the mortal plane. She’s the kind of boss who works alongside her subordinates; this is to ensure the process of guiding souls to the afterlife (Spirit World) goes off without a hitch.
From the beginning, Solaria worked for Proterius as a general of sorts, commanding not only a militarized unit of the Land, Air, Water, and Space consisting of pengulez and fairies, but she also ran trade with the goblins. Dubbed the General of L.A.W.S, Solaria had total control of the most organized races from any god, ready for Proterius’ command at a moment’s notice. This form of organization and power was impressive, but also earned the ire of Repter and Marcarvious; this was Repter’s tipping point, his frustration being the bargaining chip Marcarvious needed to get him on his side. Upon Proterius’s defeat, Solaria had to release the pengulez from her service and relinquish her dominion over the goblins, but was allowed to keep her fairy units to continue her duties in the Spirit World. Always one to honor an agreement, Solaria is still the head of Spirit World to this day.
This cunning entity is known to use anything at her disposal, including her unique ability to change into a different race–just like a Shifter–to blend in and easily spy. She is a bookworm at heart, having mastered bizarre tricks she’s learned about, and is able to speak in all known languages. She has also read every Tome cover-to-cover, and can swap between their abilities on a whim. In fact, she is the only creature to walk the mortal planes who can use multiple tomes at once. One never knows what’s up Solaria’s sleeve.
Solaria is a two-foot-four fairy who looks to be only a few decades old, even though legends say that she has existed for eons, dating back to long before Proterius was sealed away. She wears a special garb called Feather Armor, which transforms from a midnight black to a pearl white depending on which Element she’s drawing power from. This Kevlar-like woven fabric combined with stroutted leather grants superior protection from getting injured. Dubbed the “flexible plate armor”, it prevents all but the hardest of slashing and piercing weapons from dealing damage; it also grants immunity to Light, Null, Shadow, and Spirit attacks. As a Soul Knight, Solaris can materialize a weapon of any size in her hand. Size doesn’t matter when great things come in small packages; Solaria has no trouble wielding weapons meant for races bigger than hers, such as humans and orcks.
This serpent-like creature lurks in the depths of Angelar, beneath the seven sectors. Chozreh is a hot-headed demigod who is constantly interfering with mortal affairs… as if the worlds of Outerah wasn’t plagued with enough problems. He demands those who wish to speak to him to prove their worth, fighting any and all that get in his near proximity. Chozreh brings out the worst in some people, yet enthralls them to fight to the death. He is a stark contrast to his master in terms of demeanor, but it is believed that Chozreh is the embodiment of Proterius’s anger, anger that was cast from Proterius himself in an effort to clear & sharpen his already brilliant mind.
As the Lord of Shadows, this beast resides beneath an ongoing, constantly spinning whirlpool of darkness. When it spawns, Angelar’s moons glow an eerie red, the only light that graces the entire planet. Additionally, any shadow creature–whether it’s a monster or one blessed with the Shadow Element–is blessed with haste and deals double the damage. It’s little surprise that warfare is at an all-time high when the Lord of Shadow graces Angelar, and all of Outerah by proxy, with his presence.
The stern, yet alluring voice of Tecknil is more than just pleasant to listen to. Those who hear the words spoken by the Lord of Light are sent into a hypnotic trance. Tecknil is able to transmit messages, visions, and even memories through its magically sealed doors. Tecknil only reaches out to those it deems worthy; a winged Angelarian female is usually sent within a dream to deliver a message. If this is the Lord of Light’s true form is anyone’s guess. Some speculate that it’s a true angel, others a goddess, and some believe the entity doesn’t exist in physical form. Tecknil was once mortal, yet it was not. It was a creation modeled after the SAI created by the Adept Humans, but its design was overseen by Solaria and, by proxy, Lord Proterius.
