rdRattakin
You’re a squeak above the rest! Rattakins are known to travel in larger groups due to their strength in numbers. They are loyal and usually take the lead when it comes to scouting for danger, which is easy thanks to their uncanny sense of smell. Rattakins are great at finding valuable treasures with their nose, especially if it is food! Because Rattakins make for excellent natural scouts, they work well in small groups. And not just small in number, but especially amongst fellow races in the Small category! Stoutlings, goblins, and other smaller races love the company of rattakins.

The Colony:

Rattakins congregate in small colonies underground and inside buildings.  It is common for one room to have over 25 rooming together.  Rattakins do not eat too much, allowing them to easily survive through what other races consider lean times.  The youngest rattakins always are allowed to eat first as they need more nutrients in their younger years to grant them their killer teeth!

  • Age 20 Years

  • Evolution Neither

Your evolutionary roots stem from the evolution of monsters. They are not part of either of the two human families.

  • Size Small

Rattakins are around three and a half feet tall. Small units take up one-fourth a cell and suffer half Movement penalties (rounded up) due to each cell counting as two.

  • Racial Variations

Rattakins have multiple sized fangs, tails, and even ears styles. Some have rounder ears, while other are pointier. Rattakins can also have different fur thickness and a wide variation of colors. Some even have multicolored or designs such as stripes, zigzags, or spots! All these variations are just that—cosmetic--and does not affect a rattakin’s stats. However, due to all variables it is easier to know two individual rattakins apart due to how unique each is.

  • L.A.W.S Land, Water, Space

Rattakins can traverse Land, requiring oxygen to breathe.  They can hold their breath in Water and Space for 30 seconds plus their Vitality modifier.

Rattakins have normal vision, but their nose can smell odors up to 15 cells away. Stronger odors can be picked up at that greater distance while faint aromas are picked up at 5 cells away. However, if cheese is nearby, at up to 30 cells away, a rattakin’s nose can pick that up no problem!

Rattakin Skills

Jokes on them!  Not only are you able to bend wires together to create traps which cause the Locked Status Effect until the victim breaks free, but someone trying to trap you is going to have a rather difficult time doing so; you’ve seen your fair share of traps, whether in the wild or in civilized areas, and are impervious to them.  Trappers hate these pesky rats due to their natural knack for disarming these important resources; not only can they disarm them with ease, but a rattakin can detect a trap up to 4 cells away to alert allies!

Rattakins use their teeth to sink into an assortment of things, such as heavy armored foes, which deal damage based on their current level appropriate to a dagger’s damage of the same tier.  However, rattakins live for the finer stuff in life, like well-aged cheese rather than chewing on your rusted armor.  By using their bite attack on something cheesy, they are granted Guaranteed T1Badass(3).  With that much badassery, they might try to devour you whole now! (Okay it just deals more damage.)  Bites are dealt in the same element as your Elemental Affinity.

When you are in a congested area, with objects or units in cells around you on all four sides, you gain +20 Dodge.  You refuse to be backed into a corner and caged yet again!
