rdKitsoo
If you see one bearing the Mark of the Beast, then you know that you’ve crossed paths with a kitsoo.  In their humanoid form, kitsoo are distinguishable by the light tufts of fur they develop over the course of their lives.  These beings can shapeshift into their animal form. While Canine or Feline kitsoo are the most popular, there are other variants of kitsoo such as, but are not limited to bear, bunny, horse, bull, and elephant.  These beings can blend into your party easily due to them being able to traverse in their animal form. Some might not even look at you twice due to them just thinking you are just a Pet. This can work out to your benefit for sure!

As a Canine Kitsoo you can travel slightly faster in your humanoid form, gaining a passive +1 to Move.

Canines gain access to these two skills:

  • Bite: You sink your teeth into your target, dealing [1D10+STR] damage at Level 1 and an additional [1D10] damage every 4 Levels thereafter.
  • Tackle: Uses your entire body to ram into a target, dealing [1D6+STR] damage with an added chance to push a creature back one cell and Topple them; the unit must make a Strength Save (target’s Acrobatics or Athletics ATC vs your Athletics ATC).  Deals [1D6] extra damage e5 Lvls thereafter.

As a Feline Kitsoo you can maneuver slightly better in your humanoid form, granting you a +1 to Jump.

Felines gain access to these two skills:

  • Pounce: You leap onto your opponent from behind, using your claws to grip onto them, dealing [1D10+STR] damage at Level 1, and an additional [1D6] damage every 6 Levels.  Upon a successful hit, you can try to topple your opponent; on a successful Strength Check (target’s Acrobatics or Athletics ATC vs your Acrobatics or Athletics ATC), you pin them to the ground.
  • Scratch: Use your sharp claws to tear into your opponent.  You deal [1D10+STR] damage at Level 1 and an additional [1D10] damage e4 Lvls.

Kitsoo Skills

You can transform into your beast form with a heightened sense of smell, regardless if you are a canine or a feline kitsoo.  In animal form, you gain animal abilities to use, maxing out at three abilities.  You gain an additional +1 to Speed, Movement, and Jump, but you lose your armor, items, and weapons while in this form.  They drop to the ground where you first transformed.

When you reach 1 on your countdown time, roll 1D4.  If it’s an even number, you recover with the brink of death with 1 Hit Point, otherwise your next Turn hits you to 0 and the final 10 seconds to death begins.  If you manage to get back up, this trait only activates once per battle; you have a maximum of nine uses of this ability throughout the course of your kitsoo’s life.  If you believe your life isn’t forfeit yet, you can forego using a charge for this skill.

Kitsoo carry an animal spirit-element-infused mask which resembles one of their other kitsoo brethren.  One mask is available to all Level 1 kitsoo and subsequent Level ups allow them to add more masks to their collection!  At Levels 10, 20, 30, and 40 a kitsoo can choose a second, third, fourth, and fifth mask respectively.
